Beau Jo’s Pizza, 6 locations throughout the state
Have you ever tried Colorado style pizza? You’ve got to visit one of Beau Jo’s 6 locations to try it! Idaho Springs, Ft. Collins, Arvada, Longmont, Steamboat Springs, and Evergreen are homes to Beau Jo’s delicious pies and salad bars. Local beers are always available on draft. Don’t pass up the honey for crust dipping!

Authentic Mexican food served in generous portions with excellent customer service. Their salsa is spicy and incredibly delicious. I love their carnitas de puerco. Great beer and margarita specials.

William Oliver’s Publick House, Fort Collins, Lafayette, and Windsor

Do you like whiskey? How about bacon? This pub loves both! Local foods sourced from within the state of Colorado and an extensive beer and whiskey selection. You must visit at least once! The bacon really is excellent, they aren’t kidding around! Order the pint o’ bacon. You won’t regret it!

Small craft brewery with a huge flavor range. You’ve got to try Snowcat Coffee Stout, typically served once the flakes start to fly.

The home of Fat Tire, perhaps the 2nd most popular Colorado beer ever brewed. You can finish your brewery tour with a slide from the upper level to the ground floor and a few beers at the tap room. Employee owned, so you know everyone working here is passionate about beer and what they bring to Colorado’s brewing traditions. For those who call the East Coast home, you can also visit New Belgium’s new brewery in Asheville, NC!

Echo Lake Lodge, Idaho Springs
13264 Hwy 103 Idaho Springs, CO 80452
Echo Lake Lodge is a Denver Mountain Park property located at 10,600′, about 3,000′ above Idaho Springs, CO and twice the elevation of Denver proper. Major changes have come to Echo Lake Lodge in 2023. Up until 2022, Echo Lake Lodge was a restaurant and gift shop at the start of the Mount Blue Sky Highway and Echo Lake operated by an amazing family business. Going forward, DMP has not indicated if the Lodge will follow the same “open late April through early October each year” schedule. The Lodge was known for excellent breakfast, lunch, dinner, and pies/desserts. Despite the name, lodging is not offered at the Lodge. As of June 10th, 2023, Denver Mountain Parks has not provided updated plans and hours of operation.
Descenders Downhill Mountain Biking Video Game
For those days when staying indoors is best, check out an excellent downhill mountain biking video game that was released in 2019. It’s hard to stop playing once you start! You can download it here for $24.99. Realistic graphics, customizable bicycles and rider gear, and endless course combinations make this a perfect choice for winter, indoor fun, or those days you just can’t get outside due to weather or time constraints!

Concert venue, music history museum, and fitness park, Red Rocks has it all. Legends of all musical genres perform here. People get fit here climbing hundreds of stairs and hiking trails!

Historic Argo Mill and Tunnel, Idaho Springs

Tour a historic gold haulage tunnel and mill! The Argo is a huge tunnel that connected multiple mines in the primetime of the Idaho Springs Mining District’s history. The Argo is soon to be the access point for a gondola taking bikers, hikers, and visitors to the top of Virginia Canyon Mountain Park!
Capital Prize Gold Mine, Georgetown
Tour an active gold mine with activities for visitors of all ages! Break open ore on the hunt for gold and silver. Pan for gold and silver in the fresh Colorado air just outside the mine portal.
